Build a City motion graphics

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSCPf2hmmc0

This animation seems to be aimed at a slightly older audience. Its very clean and modern with a nice simple colour scheme. There are some uses of 3d space when the camera turns sideways but its mostly 2d. All the movements are nice and smooth and the transitions between scenes are simple and effective. It defiantly brings the information across and it doesn't overcrowd the animation by keeping things simple. I really like the way that different objects seem to almost build themselves on screen , for example the school and church.

Sweets Commercial

This advert is very colourful and seems like it would be aimed at a young audience. As the camera is going past all the fruit, I'm not sure whether the fruit are meant to be cut outs or actual 3d objects , but i noticed on the oranges that they have a white outline. Also i think that the sparks on the fuse could have been made brighter and more visible. The packaging on the sweet tube could have been made to look a bit more realistic during the animation, as to me it didn't look right. However when the sweet tubes are lined up at the end they look okay.I do quite like the way the sweets seem it be suspended in mid air.

This advert is quite short but i really like the way they have used the 3d space. Another part that i quite liked is when the font changes colour. however i don't think that the font really suits the animation. The images of the two cans could have been a better quality as they are trying to sell the product , yet the actual images of the product don't make it look great. I'm not really sure on the target audience as the animation is quite colourful and slow. The one thing i would like to do in my motion graphics is experiment with the 3d space and maybe do something similar to what was in this piece.

Motion Graphics CV

Personally i think this CV is a little tacky. they did have some good ideas especially with showing there show reel on the telly, but apart from that it seemed like everything was all over the place. There was no need for the different colour schemes and fonts in the different scenes and this, to me made it seem very unprofessional. He should have maybe made use of the 3d space and created some nice transitions between the scenes. I think that after his show reel had played, maybe he should have got rid of the telly again as it makes it seem like he got a bit lazy. what i have learned from watching this is that when I'm creating my own pieces , I'm going to try to stick to one theme, and make it look as least tacky as i can make it.

I really like the way this motion graphic flows. every movement is smooth and i cant really find anything that looks out of place. I really like the different transitions between scenes as they just kind of flow into each other. this is something i defiantly would like to incorporate into my own piece. Its mostly done in 2d , and some really cool typography effects, and as this info graphic doesn't have a specific target audience i think its done really well to make it easily understandable for everyone. It doesn't have a specific colour scheme but the colours used in each different scenes work well together.

Nike advert

this piece looks a lot more professional than the other two Ive looked at so far. it uses the whole 3d space available and has some really nice effects. in some parts it does go quite quickly and it is a slightly hard to follow, but i think its to emphasise the speed of the product. i like the simple colour scheme as it doesn't overcrowd the animation and to me, makes it seem more professional. i really like the way the camera follows the object and i might try to do something similar within my work. the one thing i would maybe change , is the amount of lightning bolts in the trail, and there size and position. it does look good , but i think if they were slightly smaller, less of them and if they were maybe a bit more transparent it could look a bit better.

This piece of motion graphics is done to be very informal and almost fun. There's lots of bright colours and it goes at a good speed which allows the viewer time to absorb whats going on in each different section. The piece of animation i would consider using in my own piece would be the paper ball scrunching up, opening up and bouncing into the scene as i think this looks quite effective. The techniques used are again quite simple and they haven't really used the whole 3d space, however what they have done works well. i have learned that its not necessarily all about making the animation for a specific target audience, its also making the product look appealing for everyone, and if its displayed in a fun yet informative way it can be very effective.
